Diasporic refers to anything related to a diaspora — the dispersion or spread of a group of people from their original homeland to other parts of the world.
In cultural or artistic contexts, "diasporic identity" means the complex sense of self that forms when people live between cultures, often carrying memories, traditions, or struggles from their ancestral land while adapting to a new one. It’s about belonging in more than one place — or sometimes, not fully in any.
In Stephanie Comilang’s case, it refers to her Filipino heritage lived through a Canadian upbringing, and how that shapes her view of home, migration, and identity.
